Chillin’ and nursing a yellow jacket sting at Priest lake Idaho after a great backpack trip to the Winds.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

The Winds! Awesome. I'm sitting in my backyard having a cocktail, about to watch Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks. Tomorrow I head out on a three day motorized canoe adventure to Baker lake. Incredible mountain views, best water anywhere, just 100 miles from Lynnwood, and completely free of charge to camp right on the lake, by canoe or by car, if you know where to go.

Packing up for a trip into The Selway-Bitterroot. smile.gif At 1.3 million acres, the 2nd largest wilderness area in the lower 48 after The Frank Church (also in Idaho with a million more acres).

Hmmm, sounds like MUCH more fun than removing old deck stain and applying new before winter sets in! But, it needs doing...

I am lounging in a motorized canoe (motor off) under the Fremont bridge, non-Fremont side. Shady, and no waves.

I'm lounging near my camper van in Cape Lookout State Park in Oregon. Best campsites on the Oregon coast, just $21/night. Most sites are almost completely private. I reserved the site just two days ago. Must have been a cancellation, there was nothing available when I checked two weeks ago. The key to success: never include a Saturday night in your search on Reserve America.

I'm sitting on the sand of Crescent beach, in northern California. Soon: the Stout grove of mighty redwoods in Jed Smith park. I canoed the Smith river there yesterday, but had to camp at Del Norte due to Jed being full.
