Left the mostly cloudy trailhead just after 5pm with hopes of clearing around sunset. The way trail was easy to follow all the way up to the meadow. From there, we pointed our boots up to the ridge. Up top, the ridge was still socked in. We dropped our packs and relaxed alongside a pond while the clouds teased us for the next two hours with glimpses of Baker and the Twin Sisters. We were ready to give up hope and head back when suddenly the fog turned pink and the clouds parted. Our patience paid off and we were treated to outstanding views.
The ridgewalk back was magical, with clouds rolling in and out and city lights in the distance. I was glad I tracked our route in on GPS, as finding the route back to the woods in the dark would have been challenging otherwise.
Back down at the car at 11pm before heading home under beautiful starry skies.

Well he didn't say WHERE the trailhead was.
Its an interesting question though, the etiquette around posting about beautiful places that might not be well known. When to share and when to keep it to yourself?

Each must decide for themselves. I was given the instructions for this hike on the condition that I didn't reveal them. So I didn't, and gave an innocuous title to the report. But this trip reporter has done well to not give route beta, and just saying the name ....... ridge is not a big deal IMO.
Sweet pictures, thanks for posting them, your content is always appreciated.

I am not the first person to post a trip report for this location on NWHikers, WTA or even WHC for that matter, so giving me flack for this is ridiculous.
Furthermore, adding comments to the effect of "I wish you didn't post this" only makes it more obvious that you want to keep a place hidden.

See Trip Report policy. If you have an issue with something in a Trip Report, send a PM or take it to another part of the forum and start a generic discussion.

Lovely pictures, many of them calendar worthy.
The issue of reporting or not has been covered extensively, and has history beginning at least with the early guidebooks such as the original 1970 "100 Hikes in Western Washington" and all its various offspring: 101 Hikes Here, 102 There, etc. The counterintuitive...or intentional...result becomes increasing interest and use in places by articles such as "The Twelve Least Crowded National Parks," the "Loneliest Highway in America*," on and on.
