I overdid it earlier this summer and hurt my knee. I can walk ok on flat but can't really do ups and downs right now. I was considering hiking deception Creek tomorrow but the latest trip report on WTA says it has some ups and downs. Are they gradual? Is the trail pretty rocky? Thanks in advance for the info.

The ups and downs aren't super intense, but it is a little rolly.

And of course, the farther you go, the more it climbs. Barclay Lake trail is pretty flat.

I didn't think of Barclay Lake, thanks for that!

Pete Lake's on my radar. Spider Meadows looks incredible! I'll have to do that when the fall colors come out. I love hiking in the mountains in autumn. Any more recommendations would be awesome! My plan was to spend the summer exploring alpine areas, but alas that isn't gonna happen. Nothing wrong with lots of rainforests and rivers!

I think it's steep. Not so bad going up, but on the way down, if you have knee or foot issue, it's going to hurt. Check out the Old Sauk, Beaver Lake, and Whitechuck Bench trails on the Mtn Loop near Darrington. All fairly flat, good tread. The Pratt Connector trail off the Mid Fk Snoqualmie is very nice as well. There’s a series of steps a ways in, but they are new steps and should be fine. One switchback, but the tread is smooth and it’s not steep. Iron Goat along Stevens Pass; great for fall color.

A little farther out of the area but the Carbon River Road is a nice flat hike.
