Mt Aix trail is snow free and a great hike this time of year yesterday was my first ever trip up, it's quite simple so I'm going to only say a few things.
1. Definitely will go back (not solo) and do the more difficult scramble up. But did not for safety reasons.
2. Not really any water lots of rocks I recommend leaving pups at home.
3. Did this as a fitness test for an upcoming Adams Hike, I think I passed! Up in about 3.25 hrs no breaks.
4. Go early like I did (6am start) enjoy the summit to yourself, and help encourage hikers on your way down.
5. You could barely see St Helens and Stuart range and if I had more than a phone I'd probably have pics of them to share.

Adams goat rocks from summit
Rainier and Bumping lake
So many wildflowers
Last thing I will say on the official route as you begin to gain the summit you will end up here, go left of the rock not straight up less loose crap for less long.
I may not be the smartest, I may not be the strongest, but I don't want to be. I only want to be the best I can be.

I've done that a few times, enjoyable outing. Tends to be a hot, dry hike. It melts out fairly early, usually can be done nearly snow free some time in June. There is a patch of snow right as you begin to traverse from Nelson Ridge to the base of the summit block.
