The wife and I are looking to do our first over night backpacking trip. We're both in really good shape so toughness of the trail is not big deal. It seems like all of the sites within Rainier are pretty booked up. We are looking for something near the park that has pretty good dispersed camping with great views and maybe some water. We just want to enjoy our time and set up camp where ever we can find a good spot. Not really looking for the hassle of a permit. Any ideas out there? Thanks for any help.

Crystal lake, Dewey lake, or Sheep lake are all close to E Rainier but none of them are really hard to get into.

I may not be the smartest, I may not be the strongest, but I don't want to be. I only want to be the best I can be.
