I'd like to add a small pocket to a pair of cycling bib shorts. (If it goes well, I'd like to do this for all of them.) It only needs to hold a debit card and a key. In an ideal world it would have a zipper, but I can live without. I have no sewing equipment or skill. Recommendations for an alterations place will be most welcome. (Rainy Pass can help me but said they don't typically work with this kind of fabric.) I'm also open to doing this myself if it can be done with a needle and thread. In which case I'd love to hear any advice on what fabric to use, thoughts on the zipper, and an idea how difficult this sounds. Thanks in advance. smile.gif

If you get this made and stick your debit card in there, be sure that the card is in some kind of protective sleeve. One time I went on a run with my debit card in the shorts pocket, planned to get some cash at the bank. When I put the card into the cash machine, it wouldn't read it. The bank was open so I went inside, and the card wouldn't read at the teller window, either. It had been working the day before, so likely static electricity from the card rubbing on the cloth had de-magnetized it. With today's chip cards, no problem, perhaps, unless you're somewhere where the merchant's device is older and only works with the mag stripe.

Rather than a zipper, you could do a flap, the kind that is sewn down the side a ways. (I don't know how better to describe it, sorry.) Almost as secure, and no moving parts.
