This is a good story and helps to remind us of the damage Europeans did to Native American Peoples - don't dismiss it without watching it. Nez Perce culture, community, and Snake River Dams

Just watched it - thanks for sharing this. I knew that the French called them the Nez Perce, but had never heard what they called themselves. Have you watched DamNation?

The only easy day was yesterday...

Thanks for posting this. It reminded me of a doc made by a Canadian friend with a similar title, about the struggles of a particular band of the Dene in the NWT: Our Healing Journey (extended trailer) Our Healing Journey (full program)

Thank you for posting this lovely video!

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey

Another related item: The Seattle Times just posted a great feature story with pics and map of this year's annual inter-tribal Canoe Journey celebration. Wonderful to see all the tribes building community and reviving their traditions. Tribal Canoe Journeys represent healing and revival

Beautiful, gb. A project in a local school in my area that includes canoe building and native traditions.
