Lots of mounting and dismounting but eventually managed to get the bike to Van Epps. I'd call it a bike-hike
Parked on FS Road 4330 @ Fortune Creek. Made it up in 2 1/2 hours. Got to the pass and hiked to a higher vantage to get a glimpse of Spirit Lake and surrounding terrain
Back to the truck in 1 1/2 hours No other people encountered

Experience is what'cha get, when you get what'cha don't want

I love a good bike hike! Looks nice up there. Good to see some wildflowers still hanging on. up.gif up.gif

my keester still hurts...
3 miles of riding/3.5 miles of pushing, worth it for 5 days in bear country...and the nice zip back down. My "vintage" 1991 Rock hopper smackbum.gif

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.
