I have a permit for Grand Valley for next weekend, and am considering doing a 4-day loop from Deer Park down Gray Wolf River to Dose Meadows, then up Cameron Pass to the Grand Valley lakes. Anybody know if there's any lingering snow on Cameron Pass? Also, is the route from Dose Meadows north over the passes a fairly established trail or should I expect some routefinding? TIA!!

The trail from Dose Meadows to Cameron Pass is easily followed, maintained trail. Not sure about this year's lingering snow, but I have found snow on the north side of Cameron Pass every year I've been there, last year I was there Aug 10th or so, the year before Aug 17th and on Aug 27th (1994).

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

I was at Cameron Pass/basin last weekend, no snow on the trail from Cameron basin up to Cameron Pass. More of an issue is the "trail" from the upper Cameron Basin to Cameron pass is on loose shale and turns into more of a scramble boot path for a short bit just below the pass. There is some mild exposure and the route requires careful foot placement to avoid slipping as it is steep and the shale is slippery. But no snow.
