So we made the trip up to alpine lakes wilderness for our honeymoon ! Found a route that a few guys had done that involved the traverse from Peggy’s to circle then over to Venus . We made it up to the ridge from circle to Venus however the traverse down look a little crazy ..me bring me decided we give it a shot however my wife and the dog became pretty stuck . Even better I put my pack down and it rolled away down the ravine . In the end she decide to call search and rescue as she couldn’t push on ! Sadly our packs are still there . One is at 47.549280, -121.173090, the other is 100ft down from that . If anyone does this traverse and sees them we would really appreciate the sleeping bag and tents as it’s rental gear . We would of course reward you ! This is not a salvage mission , just if you are traversing this and see these bags . Private message me for my
Number if you were planning to hike this area ! Lesson learnt tho after this trip :/ .
It’s just over the next ridge !

Glad everyone is safe! Quite the experience.

I may not have anyone rocking my world right now but, I don't have anyone messing it up either.

From the photos that area looks less than awesome.
Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

In this photo was there a drop off below the rocks in the foreground that prevented you from retrieving your pack? Also, is there a reason why you left your wife's pack up there? I'm assuming SAR walked you out since you didn't mention any injuries. Glad you are safe.
FWIW, here are a couple images I found on the web (not mine) but you can click on them to zoom in and label. I'm assuming your pack is somewhere above the cliffs.

Yeah I might of got down , it was loose rock down to the bag . However the dog was with me and the wife didn’t wanna leave her there ! It was an air extraction and where my wife was wasn’t accessible so she had to hop across to where I was and leave her bag sadly aswell . It would be the south east side of Venus looking up across to mouth Daniel .

Is there a rental car up there too? To be honest I think your best bet would be to find someone willing to dayhike up with you to retrieve your packs, with you carrying one of the packs out.

Don’t you think you sort of have a moral obligation to get back up there and retrieve your stuff? Leaving your packs up there is essentially littering....

I would offer to go up there myself with him tomorrow if I thought I could do it but not in good enough shape having been sidelined with foot issues for a while. Great opportunity for a day hike if anyone has the requisite cross-country skills and is up for it.

My general impression of WHC is it caters to the less experienced. Might have a good chance of another SAR rescue if someone without requisite cross country experience attempts to retrieve the pack.

So sorry to hear of your experience. What's worse is your wife will probably never let you hear the end of it.

Are you local or traveling? Why wait two weeks?

Well I can go whenever actually . Just live in Moscow Idaho . But I’d like to go sooner rather then later if there’s any experienced hikers out there to join me so I don’t get stranded again haha
