I go to the gym 3x per week. All year. We don't have a Palmer Snowfield at my gym.

There were a few serious Nordic skiers in Up Nort Wisconsin that would be out on those skis with da wheels on dem. Dey would be skating down or up da road. Looked like all the same muscles used as da real skiing. There are some folks over in the Methow that do the same. I would want brakes on the skis and padding on me. Falling would hurt.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human末animals and aliens are great possibilities

Sounds like "the way to get into shape for skiing was to ski" isn't very good advice most of the year. That's why I asked about using the gym during a time of year when there are no groomed Nordic trails in our state. Glad everyone came around to being able to understand. Not sure why we needed this long detour.

No hurry for snow here. I've been really enjoying the UNsmoky summer. Back to the topic, if you really want a boring gym thing to do, get on a NordicTrac.

Since English doesn't seem to be your primary language, the rest of us will figure it out from here. Thanks for trying to be helpful!

up.gif up.gif I was thinking it was spelled without a K on the end. I also thought when I saw it that this thread would be about chairlifts, t bars, rope tows, etc. for granola skiers. (do not be offended, I are and have been a granola skier). Tis a term from the early days of skinny skiing--at least for us who worked at White Pass.

Heh.. guilty. Thought you meant chair lifts. But you call that a "long detour"? wink.gif Ok, I'll just add a friendly reminder to stretch those hip flexors!
