Wow, that looks awesome! I see goats frequently but I've only seen bighorn sheep off in the distance. I didn't know they came down to the parking lot to lick antifreeze like the other critters do. That one big ram was posed absolutely perfectly for you.

Edit: Looking back again at the photos, perhaps the country you all were hiking through was too high of an elevation for bear habitat. It is pretty desolate up there. I suppose being local that you have a good handle on their habits and whereabouts.
I think 2-3 of us had bear spray. We made plenty of noise as we walked (talking). We were not concerned in the open areas - only when we were in forested areas. As long as you don't surprise a bear, or get between a bear and its cubs, you should be OK.
