Between this site and Washington Trails Assoc., there have been a bunch of bear pics recently. They always feed on berries this time of year but I don't remember ever seeing so many photos.

Interestingly enough, hunters allowed to harvest 2 bears this season. WDFW has determined the state has a overabundance of black bears.

The light got kind of sweet as we lingered on a recent hot evening at a favorite swimming and chilling spot out along the Middle Fork Snoqualmie

I realized it's been nearly twenty years since I last got up to the Green Mountain summit. Back then, the lookout was just a memory and some scraps laying about. There were as many marmots as I recalled, some cool hawks playing on the updrafts, and SO many plump tart blueberries!!

Kim - you shoulda seen his shorts before a woman friend convinced him that his nice comfortably cool "short shorts" (Magnum PI style) were not an acceptable current look. Here's another from Green, of the upper "marmot meadows." I was glad that this time I had a 45 pound dog with me rather than a 105 pound one.
