I saw this and thought a few in here might enjoy. To be honest you can see better photos in the trip reports forum, but the variety in one page is a good reminder how special our home state is.

We have glaciated mountains, live and extinct volcanoes, deep rainforest, desert, lovely burn scars teeming with new life, archipelagos, majestic rivers, bizarre scablands, deciduous conifers, ... you all know. I grew up in a place that's downright boring by comparison. I saw Washington for the first time on a road trip many years ago, and fell in love. This place is incredible.

Hey Hesman, thanks for spotting that, I could tell it couldn't be the Hoh, just couldn't figure out which drainage it was.

Comparing it side by side with the Hurricane Ridge webcam picture it does look like Long Ridge.
