Fabulous pics and description. I was there Aug 8-15, but started at Green River Lakes and came out Big Sandy just as you were heading in!
It was epic. Fun to see some of the places you hit that we missed. But it's all amazing... |
That's awesome!! Which areas did you hit that we missed?

We just got back from 6 days in the Winds and also did the same route as you across Alpine Lakes Basin, over Alpine Lakes Pass and Indian Pass.
Glad to see that it wasn't just us who hated the miles of boulder hopping! That third lake especially was a pain in the butt to skirt around and took way longer than anticipated. The Knifepoint Glacier and its easy travel was definitely the highlight of the day.

You probably exceeded your limit of landscape beauty
Love the uncertainty in the narrative, and the DIY route/food. Inspirational.

Am I right that more is coming? As of Day 7 you're still in the alpine wilderness! Such awesome eye candy!

Day 8 is uploaded, which closes out this TR. Not many pictures from day 8 because I was thinking about that post-hike burger the whole time .
Soon you'll finally be able to log on to NWHikers and not see this TR at the top of the list because it is officially done
On a related note, I'll be presenting a slideshow on this trip at NWPeaks Brewery in Ballard next Monday, September 23. The facebook event is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/526599728114743 and I think the brewery wants people to RSVP using the eventbrite ticketing system for room capacity reasons.
Thanks everyone for reading and commenting! |
