I realize I've been going about this all wrong. BEARS! Highly dangerous and bloodthirsty. Prowling our Northwest trails. You'd better stay out of the woods. Don't even get off the highway. You don't want to meet the next Old Groaner.

Friends help the miles go easier. Klahini

Humans are only the second-most dangerous animal on the planet.

This needs to be on Instagram. Just Photoshop blood covered bears into a bunch of great landscape shots.

That's what the deal was back in the Louis and Clark days! Back in the days they realized the danger of the wild west!! These days it's real soft and fuzzy cause you see these instagram posts by all the people whose trips into the wilds went well. But what about those who tell the stories of disaster? I'm thinking their posts get blocked by the algryhthm so you don't see it. Take for example the snow camping. It always looks like a warm cozy dry tent surrounded by marshmallows but really it's a extremely hostile environment

I carry when I am out in the woods. Seen plenty of bear without incident. I pack for fear of bees mostly, bees and avalanches. Seriously though, better to have it and not need it.

Nature exists with a stark indifference to humans' situation.
