Getting out to Alaska, so I'm cheating.
There goes my carbon budget!
And my diet.

Thursday bike ride, Saturday hike, Mon-Tue larch trip maybe (but probably not since they're so much better against blue sky). I still welcome all the rain nature throws at us at this point. But the mind is already starting to drift to the SW.

Me too. My 10 day trip from Dingford Creek TH to Leavenworth starts next Thursday. You can't cancel something like that just because it might rain. What else am I going to do? Clean my apartment and look out the window when I could be napping through multiple rain showers in a tent? Hell no, I'm going.

Talked to a hunter on the Hatchery Creek Trail on Monday, and he said the bad weather drove a lot of the hunters out by Sunday afternoon.
As for the larches, the only one I saw that was changing was this little beauty up on Icicle Ridge. All the big ones were still green.

We got snowed on a little bit, maybe with the cooler temps the larches will start to change now.

Well, it has been cloudy much of the summer with a lot more marine influence than normal. Cooler highs and warmer lows.

There is growing confidence that the Inland NW will see much cooler temperatures to finish off the month of September. Mountain snow may begin to fall, and the first freeze of the season will likely occur for portions of the Inland NW._InlandNW Weather Blog

I went up to Klonaqua lakes Wednesday to Friday with my dog and enjoyed myself. It was cool and gray but opened up some on Thursday.
The fish were hungry, mushrooms out and the fire on the river was oh so warm...I didn’t see a soul.
