Say good-bye to hiking. This is again pretty early, though certainly not powder snow.
Telemetry as of 10 am Saturday shows perhaps 30-35" at 5000' at Baker, and better than 24" at Paradise. Even Hurricane has about 8", Mission similar, and Crystal is snowing like banshees, now up to 13". Snoqualmie Pass is currently closed with 4", the snow level is considerably lower than forecast. Washington Pass, though, is fairly dry but has picked up several inches this week. You might still find some larches there.
Lest you get too excited about skiing, though, look for slop and crust early next week.
Last year I was up at asgard competing hard under sunny skies in 70+ temps on Oct 22!!
This year we're adding a month to winter! Its gonna get brutal come the deep of February and associated months!! Unacceptable! Might have to do the whole airplane deal to get out into some desirable vicinities in said months
