Was in Concrete, WA last week and finally tried Miga Korean Restaurant. It is among the best Korean food I've ever had. Please support this place! For the record, other places I/we like: Winthrop, WA - Carlos 1800. Carne Asada or their signature Cochinita Pibil are legit Winthrop, WA - Highway 20 Pizza. 509er pizza Concrete, WA - Miga pretty much go crazy! All very good with great pickled goodness on the side. Concrete, WA - 5 B's Bakery great morning or lunch place, all GF (and good for non-GF'ers too!) Roslyn, WA - Roslyn Cafe of Northern Exposure fame. Also the Carek's Meat Market for to go jerky and pepperoni sticks. Would like to hear of other places that satisfy after a long hike!

There's actually a thread on this subject already (somewhere...). But a place I like on the way back from a hike is the Snoqualmie Falls brewery. Good nachos and good beer!

Have not eaten there yet, but hear it is good. You also have spelled Okanogan in the Canadian fashion and that could confuse folks who are knowledgeable about things like that. smile.gif . I love, too much, the burgers at The Club in Okanogan. It is on a side street on the east side of the main street. They also have an assortment of beers. Since the laundromat is almost next door, you could do your laundry whilst eating. Bonaparte Lake Resort also has really good messy burgers. Again--too good. frown.gif

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Well crap, we missed out on that...I didn't even know there was a restaurant up there. We spent 5 days prowling around up there after Mem day last spring, and stayed at Bonaparte lake one night.

I don’t get over to Okanogan too often, but The Club has, easily, the best burgers in Okanogan County. Possibly even in the entirety of Eastern Washington.....

The first time I ate there, two high school age kids kept taking turns going into the bathroom, then coming out rubbing their noses. They seemed agitated and full of energy. They kept hitting on the waitress, who was obviously not impressed, but too polite to tell them where to go. It left an impression! I was with a friend who can't remember proper names, and dubbed the place "Meth Burger." On the other hand, the grub was fantastic. They're on the way back from a number of great hikes, and I always look forward to eating there after working up an appetite on the trail. I've never seen druggies in there again, but the nickname stuck. I feel like it would be unfair to name the place after all that. I hope I made somebody laugh though. I should go put in a good word for them in the other grub thread.

I'll have to try The Club, thanks for the recommendation. And you're right; I mostly post from my phone lately, I'm surprised it knows both versions of the name. The town of Okanogan makes a great base for a few days, and there's some excellent road cycling in the area too. Loup Loup is harder from this side, but no less beautiful. I've been wanting to ride up to the Iron Gate TH from the valley floor. Smallwood is a great breakfast stop if you're heading west.

Wouldn't this thread constitute using social media to "ruin" an excellent eatery by flooding it with the unworthy hordes?
