Right, back to the carefree days of the AIDs epidemic, Crack babies, Iran/Contra and here in the PNW the first big wave of Californication.
My Dad talked about some guy from California buying a place in N. Idaho. People couldn’t believe it when he had the bad manners to put up No Trespass signs up. No one had ever heard of such a thing. The local culture on walking a straight line across the country to get where you wanted was more akin to the Scandanavian Every Man’s Right. Dad and the other kids ripped down the signs until the guy gave up. This would have been in the mid-30’s. 1980’s? Best.

Keep Calm and Carry On? Heck No. Stay Excited and Get Outside!

Well, if she is going to go there, I wonder her thoughts on capital punishment, universal healthcare, and immigration — all relevant to the issue of “surplus population.”

She was a plant from LaRoushe PAC and her rants were a riff on Jonathan Swift's "A modest proposal" https://www.newsweek.com/eat-babies-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-trump-pac-lyndon-larouche-1463192

Alright, I actually read the story elsewhere and didn’t click the links. Of course, the second link couldn’t make it any easier. My initial reaction was that she was a plant. This out to backfire nicely. Hyperbole should only be used by someone who knows what they are doing.

This was just last month: A Swedish scientist suggested the climate crisis could lead people to consider eating human flesh. https://www.businessinsider.com/cannibalism-eating-human-flesh-climate-change-2019-9

That used to be called MENTAL ILLNESS!

Well it's hardly a proper apocalypse if people aren't eating each other, and everybody seems to love a good apocalypse on the horizon these days.

"I’ve been with Extinction Rebellion (XR) from the start...And I’m here to say that XR isn’t about the climate." Extinction Rebellion isn’t about the Climate https://medium.com/@plaosmos/extinction-rebellion-isnt-about-the-climate-42a0a73d9d49 No, it's about all the same old SJW crap. It's the Green New Deal story all over again.

Aren't those the guys who tried to spray Parliament or some government structure. I would say they may not be focusing their time and energy in the right places biggrin.gif biggrin.gif They did provide an amusing 20-25 seconds though.
Lol. The firehose getting away from them was maybe not their finest hour, but definitely entertaining for the rest of us. And they keep gluing themselves to things...which doesn't seem that inspiring either.

Finally some of these jackasses are getting the pushback ... Those are Mr Better Than You's on the train. Only they and the other Anointed see the Apocalypse on the tracks of life ahead. (Caused by temps lower than those already seen in this interglacial) So they're all about causing problems for you, so that you'll demand govt... to make more problems for you.
All this chaos and discord over science which isn't. What a waste.

Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie' until you can find a rock. - Will Rogers

Good post yesterday from Cliff Mass: The Real Climate Debate The real rebate is between two groups: 1. A confident, non-political group that believes technology, informed investments, rational decision making, and the use of the best scientific information will lead to a solution of the global warming issue. An optimistic group that sees global warming as a technical problem with technical solutions. I will refer to these folks as the ACT group (Apolitical/Confident/Technical) 2. A group, mainly on the political left, that is highly partisan, anxious and often despairing, self-righteous, big on blame and social justice, and willing to attack those that disagree with them. They often distort the truth when it serves their interests. They also see social change as necessary for dealing with global warming, requiring the very reorganization of society. I call these folks the ASP group (Anxious, Social-Justice, Partisan). https://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2019/10/the-real-climate-debate.html
