On another forum, a person wrote that she felt safer on her ebike. She didn't have to hurtle down hills at speeds she was not comfortable with in order to make it up an oncoming hill. With an ebike, you can ride down at a speed you feel safe with and then get up the other side with the assist.
There have been times I wished I could ride my "acoustical" bike up the pass and not have to ride it back down, due to traffic or washboard road surfaces.

I've walked my ebike many times down hills. Going up is OK, down not so much. Plus, the cable on the Rad is constantly slipping or stretching and needs frequent adjustments. When the rear brake pad totally went out, I happened to be riding on a fairly flat road so made it back OK. The Gazelle has some other kind of hydraulic brakes on it. I'll have to study up, but I don't expect to experience the same problems as on the Rad. Heavier bikes and brakes. What could go wrong? smile.gif

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Looks good. I'd go riding with you tomorrow if a nail hadn't taken out my tire yesterday.

How pathetic am I? The dang wheels came with maybe 5lbs of air in the tires, and I don't have a air pump that fits that valve steam! LOL. Cant go riding until my air pump arrives!!! doh.gif

Looks like a Presta valve most bike shops have adapter to Schrader valves. You can also het a head that accepts both and place it on the hose.

Here is my bike on a sandy gravel road. It does just fine on this stuff.

I plan to ride the Similkameen area around Nighthawk. Maybe this year if the weather is exceptionally warmish. Right now it is Deer Season. I drove around there from Oroville to Loomis and met one vehicle and had one motorcycle pass me. There are some camping spots along the river on BLM land.

I want to do some rides in that area in the spring. Loomis to the Iron Gate TH seems like it would be a lot of fun. Not far from there, Tonasket to Wauconda Pass. Sinlahekin. Further east, Republic down to the Columbia, and Kettle Falls to Sherman Pass. I'd welcome company on any of these.

In their indiegogo campaign they claim their front hub with 250W of power will flatten any hill. ykm.gif
