On 4th of July, I took my group to Pk. 4,504'. It's a short hike that would leave time for partying later, plus it has a flag on top which I figured was appropriate for the holiday. smile.gif I had 2 takers for this hike, willing to brave the steep & somewhat overgrown trail to the top of this lesser-visited peak. On the way up:
On top:
While we were on the summit relaxing & having a snack & conversation, one of my companions said "What was that?" They both had heard what sounded like a tin roof rattling down in the valley, where there were some houses. I hadn't heard it since I was eating &/or talking (maybe both!) @ the time. Checking the news later we found out that an earthquake struck @ approximately that same time....though none of us felt it. paranoid.gif On the way down:
We wound up trying a different Mexican restaurant on the way back, but it was lame (no margs, to say the least). down.gif Post-hike refreshment:

Home is where the hiking is. "Peaks that have come and gone four times should halt a man in his steps." -- William O. Douglas A balanced diet is a margarita in each hand.
