Since the IP I've discovered parachute cord to be perfectly adequate for boot laces. Durable and dirt cheap, it's now my lacing system of choice. Still seeking an improved coffee cup system.
I love my Snow Peak TI 450 double wall mug. its ultra light, keeps hot stuff hot and super tough. just don't put it on a stove to heat something up, like I did.

Are you saying a red cup isn’t enough? How could that be?
I did find an insulated, cheap, fairly light cup with a lid at, I think at Walmart. The lid has an opening (for drinking out of) that can easily be closed, making it useable WHILE hiking. Can’t beat that. And did I say that it was red.
Yesterday we actually made real drip coffee on the trail. It was awesome.
