I spent a week visiting my daughter in LA over Thanksgiving....we took 3 days to revisit Joshua Tree NP. We had been there before in July with temps over 100 degrees; now is a nice time to visit a desert. The first day was quite windy and it felt more winter like than our snow hikes here in December. The temps on that day were in the mid 30s so the wind chill was somethin' else. But of course we enjoyed it anyway, cranking up the heat full blast when we got back to the car. The next day we spent all day hiking, bouldering and scrambling in extremely nice weather, sometimes in a single layer. The last day we drove through the park and stopped at a few places before exiting to endure the worst travel day of the year coming back to LA. Actually, it wasn't that bad after the first hour and a half.
Joshua Tree has a lot to offer; it was a great way to spend a few days. I selected some pics that I think highlight some of its attractions, at least on this particular trip. Happy Holidays everyone.
