Too true! I was astounded that keas can even open zippers with their beaks. They make ravens seem rather stupid by comparison.

Passing rocks and trees like they were standing still

Hi Matt, found your post browsing the net and had to join up and say hello. Turns out My wife and I flew over the Hut while you were in there on the Sat 23rd, possibly playing chess. Or perhaps you are one of the four returning in the picture.
As much I will always dream I doubt I will get up there now, being 58 years young. We enjoyed the tourist thing jumping out of the Helo briefly and walking the Muller track.
After joining up with our son in Wellington, I did get to climb Tahurangi two weeks later after the storm blew through. Happily we were the early birds as we were the only two to make it up, before the weather closed in again.
Heading back down the summit ridge.
Any way an awesome achievement on Mt Cook Matt and a great wright up that I will read many more times, as it brings back such happy memories for myself too. If I can stay fit enough, you never know. wink.gif

Born again climber after 40 years away surfing.
