The racism and transphobia in your post is incredible. |
Pretty funny that you think it was an insult.

It would seem reasonable to view the original invocation of the transgender stripper (via the Daily Caller article) as being offensive or otherwise negative to that community. But it seems it would be equally reasonable to view the retort the same way (though arguably somewhat more inadvertently).
I just wish we could lessen this divide a bit by going back to kinder, gentler days when we simply cast aspersions and insults in the form of calling people, in not so many words, "women."

Let the condiments flow!!
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

More condiment than in a Sam Peckinpaw film.

I've never considered Up against the wall to be a threat, unless hollered by a cop.
Remember, she is young and English is not her first language.

Folks from Norway can speak, write, and understand English better than a large contingent of our own under-educated citizens.
Learning English as a second language is compulsory in Norway.

^ All Scandinavian countries teach their children English in their public school systems. My cousin from Skarmunken speaks English as well as most any American. When she and her group (more distant cousins) came to visit several years ago, I was amazed at their command not only of the English language, but their understanding of colloquial and slang terms as well.
I converse with people in India and Jordan and Kuwait and Indonesia and Singapore and The Philippines on an almost daily basis online, and I'm always amazed by their command of English.
Amercians? Not so much.
As for the British, I keep waiting for them to learn how to spell simple words like "color" and "theater". Unfortunately Daniel Webster didn't get the message to them.
"I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach.
I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each."

It was Noah, Daniel's cousin, who suggested revised orthography for America. With that clarified, please resume the conversation.
Also, Greta doesn't know it because she has little education, but "to put someone gainst the wall" in Swedish also means metaphorically to threaten with a firing squad even if the colloquial usuage doesn't imply that to a kid. I've had some interesting conversations with young folks, even in the office, who had no idea about the imagery behind their colorful language. Would be interesting to learn how she was exposed to that phrase.

^ thanks for the clarification.
Considering the individuals whose pictures are found on a list of the Time Magazine Person of the Year, it's hilarious that anybody would get all excited about Time's most recent choice.
