I spent a couple of days earlier this month hiking about in the rain at Lake Quinault. It poured down heavy rain constantly aside from about 30 minutes in the morning. It made for very wet hiking and difficult photography, but it was a ton of fun nonetheless!
We got a late start the first time, and the south shore road was in such poor condition once the pavement ended that we canceled our plans to hike out to Pony Bridge and stopped at Fletcher Canyon instead. I was glad to hike the trail, but it did leave me wondering if the North Shore Road was any better.
The next morning we took advantage of a brief break in the rain to visit a few waterfalls, which were running at full tilt. We had also stopped to see Bunch and Merriman falls the previous day.
