I was looking through photos from the summer and realized I'd gotten a few decent ones on this trip. On July 4 I hiked to Mount Carrie via the northern part of the Seven Lakes Basin Loop to Heart Lake, to Cat Basin, and then via the unmaintained trail and "catwalk." No water past Heart Lake. The unmaintained trail and catwalk are easy, but care is needed in the exposed sections. The final bit to the Carrie summit was unpleasant sidehilling on scree, but it was short lived. The views from the top were superb: Bailey Range, Olympus, and the Hoh River Valley shrouded in clouds. On the way back I hiked out via the other end of the Seven Lakes Basin loop to complete the loop and get up Bogachiel Peak. Clouds were in and out all day which made for some interesting views. A beautiful day in the mountains, I really need to get out to the Olympics more often.

Well, this is a soothing sight for sore eyes! Thanks.

Pure enjoyment, Jake! You covered quite a bit of ground. Please sift thru your photos and post any other trips you've not yet shown us. As Kim said, our eyes can use a break from the gray about now.
