I was thinking the same thing!
That was pretty much the only thing that I didn't like about the game...

How's everybody think we did in the draft? Sad to see Fluker and Britt gone. The O-line is a big question mark, but thats kinda the way its been in Seattle for years now.

Time to party! Another season is upon us. Fingers crossed.
The Seahawks are going to surprise. New offensive line, yes, but every position changed is an upgrade.
Tight end situation went from sparse to stacked. Back 7 on defense also stacked.
Sure, Clowney is gone, but he wanted too much. 3 sacks gone, but Bruce Irvin had 8.5 sacks last year.
I think some teams will handle the new reality better than others. The teams that buy into the system and the coaching will have the advantage. Seattle has solid veteran leadership all over the field, players who want to be here.

I like the offense and secondary, but the DL is the glaring weakness of this team and will likely cost them multiple games. Last year, with JC, they could not stop the run and were among the worst in sacks, TFL, and QB pressures. Nothing they've done in the offseason has improved that including adding Mayowa and Irvin. Their DT depth is also very worrisome.
I hope I'm surprised and that unit turns things around, I just don't see it happening right now.

I'm not sure, I know the line needs help but I have always liked Irvin, although I would rather have seen Frank Clark come back, but we will see how it plays out.

Well, they were the best team in football last year until wiped out by injuries to most of their best players. A run first team cannot lose its center, best tight end, left tackle, and the top three running backs. They were left with a late round draft pick rookie and a player retired for more than a year, trying to run with no blocking. The defense was wiped out almost as badly, Clowney missing games and playing hurt, Kendricks out at LB, then Diggs went down, then Griffen. Yet still they came within 6 inches of sweeping the niners.
I do not expect that level of bad luck on top of bad luck again this year. The offensive line starting this year is going to be way better than what they ended up with last year. The defensive line is a huge question mark, yes, but last year it was awful, players hurt in preseason, suspended, etc. I think this year will be better in that regard, how much better is the question.
I am looking forward to Seattle finally having a guy who can cover the tight end. Adams is the real deal.

I am more optimistic. I think, on paper at least, they look like a better team than last year.

LJ Collier just eclipsed his entire rookie season “accomplishments” with that intentional grounding call, which counts as a sack for him. Yay!

Looks like Tommy terrific should have retired.
Russell sure looked good. So did Metcalf. Adams and Diggs are fun to watch play. The Hawks have a smashmouth secondary again.
That's one.
Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

The Niners are in sole possession of last place after one week. Ha ha.
Wilson had the third best completion percentage in NFL history when a team attempts 35 or more passes.
Weird NFL factoid: the Titans only managed to score 8 field goals in 16 regular season games last year. And they were contenders, winning two playoff games. So they acquired the fifth most accurate kicker in NFL history, and he missed his first three kicks and an extra point. He once went an entire season without missing three kicks. But then he managed one paltry 25 yard field goal and won the game. Weird....
Suddenly Seahawks fans are thinking that two first round draft picks for Jamal Adams was a bargain.

These days the Seahawks are always in the bottom half of the first round anyway, plus they nearly always trade down, backing themselves to find diamonds in the rough. Having come to terms with their modus operandi I wasn’t that irked with the trade.

Let’s hope at least one of those picks is #32 of the first round.
Happy Birthday Pete Carroll, oldest head coach in the league!

What an amazing and stressful game! Wilson and the receivers were awesome, as was the running game. The lack of a pass rush was troubling and imo nearly cost us the game. The O line gave Wilson decent protection.
