Seahurst Park (South Side) 11-03-19

Seahurst Park Burien

Total park size is 172 acres - one of the largest municipal parks on Puget Sound.

From the upper parking lot, pick up a "trail" that winds up and around a bowl, circles back, and then takes you up and around a little spur, and finally drops you down to the beach.

It appears that somebody is doing some improvements to a portion of the "trail".

This fall was a bumper-crop season for fungi all over Western Washington.

It was nice to warm up on a sunny beach after climbing through wet brush.

And then take a lovely walk under the trees back up to the car.

That did not appear to be the case at all, Barb. It definitely looked like pro trail work - a lot of crushed gravel had been hauled in.
They just didn't cover a lot of distance.
Years ago - it's probably been over a decade now - I spoke with someone at Burien Parks and Recreation on the phone at length, who told me at that time their intention was to do some trail improvements on the south side.
I'd imagine budget constraints have probably been a factor in the slow process of that taking place.

Of course I was kidding about renegades.
Yes, the pro trail builder has done a lot of improvements, work not being sanctioned by Burien Parks & Recreation.
