Harvey Manning had a series of books Footsore that covered lowland walks that are great for close in hiking. A side note is plenty of brewerys for lunch afterwards. One of my favorite state parks is Deception. Cranberry lake area beaches were busy on this president day weekend. But the rest of park, empty trails. Hoypus hills is mostly in the forest unless you get to the beach. No real elevation gain at all. No people unless you're close to trailhead. Great place to let the dogs run. Supposed to be on a leash but common practice is lease up when encountering others. Rubber boots recommended.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost
