The above photo is a 'selfie', in which I triggered the camera from a remote. I'm about a 3min trip from the perch I'm standing on. The trip involved three scrambles and a quick jog along a brushy path. And another 5min to return to the camera. I made three trips total, but I'd wanted to take this photo for years so it was all great fun.

Nice one, GaliWalker!
This is probably the biggest Sitka Spruce in the Middle Fork valley. But at 10' in diameter it's not even close to the record holder, the Quinault Giant Sitka Spruce. At least this one is in an undisturbed natural setting.

It's near the the Bessemer road between the Middle Fork road and the CCC trail. That whole area of the valley is all clay and the Big Leaf Maples and Sitka Spruce are the dominant trees. There's also a LOT of brush and many small drainages so it's a pain to hike through, even in winter without leaves.
