Camping twice at Fairholm last summer, almost dropped hammock straps on someone’s pile. Cooked all my meals at Cape Alava only to realize at the end, I was less than a foot away from someone’s poop. Seems like everywhere you go, you’ll see little wads of brown stained toilet paper behind any tree within a 30 foot radius of any otherwise nice spot.

Really, anyone too lazy to did a hole or bag it should be dropped head first into a backcountry toilet and left for a few days😡

No excuse for such sloppy and inconsiderate behavior -- but are sure the turds were human and not stupidly large dog?

Or maybe bear scat...

Usually there is toilet paper strewn about and I know of no animals that use TP.

I was grossed out at Packwood Lake a few years ago.  Poopage right along the trail near the lake and my Used Dog started to do what dogs do to people poop.  I might not eat breakfast now.

At the same time, was hearing about massive poopage around Goat Lake.  One of the backcountry guys was getting the OK to put in a pit toilet, I guess.

It discouraged me from backpacking to popular places.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

I wish there was mandatory education.  To backpack, you have to watch an educational video of what to and not to do...and the ramifications of not digging a pit.

Like having one’s head dunked in a backcountry toilet
