Great ideas, as always!

Not Men At Work, or The Velvet Underground or The Waterboys. All great bands worth a listen. The Velvet Underground, kinda fascinating. Waterboys Fisherman's Blues is a favorite one by them.

In the 2000's not CCR or classic rock bands. Not an obvious water song. And I don't think I'm confusing words in lyrics. Although ELO's Don't bring me down sounds like Bruce more than groos!

Not sure on Genre, soft rockish. I'll have to think more on that. I distinctly remember one guy singing lyrics I can't remember in a different tone and then the chorus? sang "down on the water....." It's really quite a good song I'm thinking. You just feel it. embarassedlaugh.gif Maybe there's a if you "come with me" or something.

I don't know if KEXP would play this song, but it's about water and the destruction of LA.

You really need the uncensored version to get the full effect.  I was sad when my copy of this CD was broken.  Probably not what Brucester is looking for though...

Tom, I may be the nbr. one Tom Waits fan in the hiking community.

I first saw him open for Frank Zappa in California in 1969 or 70.  I had never heard of him but became a fan from that night on.

One of the most unique and original performers of our time.
