So I'm not sure London has no soul.   Although the London of today is no doubt much different from when Baking Street came out in the 70s.

Wikipedia has a good summary for the origins of Baker Street (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baker_Street_(song)). Short answer is it was London.
