Italo Marchiony, an Italian immigrant, was issued a patent for the ice cream cone on September 22, 1903. up.gif (It's also worth noting that on that same day, David Irland of Chicago, Illinois was issued a patent for a rather interesting variant of a pipe wrench.)

Hey, I'm still on page 1 of most prolific posters and I haven't posted much in years. I'm surrounded by good company on that page. Some turned into lifelong super duper good friends.

I recently came across a person with a rock on their desk I found strangely familiar, black with green striations. The only place I know with rocks like that is just west of Navaho Peak. I asked the person where they got the rock, and it was confirmed, same spot. Now I'm wondering, if I took a rock, and they took a rock, is everyone else who goes up there taking rocks ? Are we slowly and systematically reducing that ridge to flat land ?

July 24 is National Tequila Day, and Friday is perfect timing.

I learn something new everyday. Today I learned how to type the degree symbol using my computer keyboard. Press the Alt key and type 0176 on the numeric key pad. 90° 48° 41' 40" N, 121° 02' 34" W Where is this? I suppose this only works with windows.

Today I learned that garter snakes eat slugs. Didn't know that.

Where were the garter snakes in June when I apparently needed them?

Thank you for not calling it a "gardener" snake. A little pet peeve of mine. Almost punched a guy once. I mean, I understand, you see them in your garden, not on your brides thigh, but still.

^are these two statements related? I almost punched a guy once, too, but what I did instead was grab his fingers and yank them backwards til one of them broke.
