Hey I heard that the Middle Fork road was washed out during the winter. Roughly were was the washout? Before or after the Taylor River campground? And is there a current ETA for the road's repair?

Can you imagine how wild this is for the winter caretakers at Goldmeyer? Not only have they been heavily isolated because of the wash-out on the MF road, but they only get resupplied every week or so and it's by literally carrying the supplies across the wash-out. Probably the safest place to be, but it'd be a wild ride!

I don't think the caretakers are out there any more -- the following notice is posted on the Goldmyer website
Quote:
March 25, 2020: COVID19 VIRUS UPDATE: To maintain the health and safety of our Caretakers, the Springs are now CLOSED. Please do NOT attempt to go there during this health crisis! Thank you for your cooperation! If you have a reservation for March and April, it will be cancelled and we will call you. We are not taking anymore reservations for March or April. Watch this website for updates.

The caretakers are definitely still at Goldmyer. There's too much risk of vandalism if there's no one on the property even when closed. Quads have been used to bring supplies in, but also in the early days before the virus, volunteers hiking or biking helped with supplies.
