This is a difficult story for me, as grizzly populations are close to crashing in various places in MT (I am not familiar with this particular locale), and losing a breeding sow moves things closer to the edge.
One of the main things to keep in mind during this distancing is that the extremely large bears are gonna be more willing to come in close cause they know you're alone.
