Thanks. Guess I didnt totally imagine that. just wrong on the character.
You were likely right on the character; just not always the owl card. Fish and marbled murrelet cards are played as well. nothing wrong with advocating for these things, but often it's unreasonable.

Yeah, I know. Trying to be nice. He drive/drives agency and partner staff crazy. At least he didn't attempt to get me fired from two jobs in the environmental industry, like other extremists (one being a NWHiker). Actually that move was a compliment - it means they were afraid. And guess what - the Suiattle Road was repaired wasn't it. up.gif

well some of the repairs that he protests are eventually despite his antics. He just happens to delay the inevitable.

We are busy this month finalizing the contract plans. We expect to notify contractors within the week so they can prepare bids. If things go as expected a contractor should begin work this spring.

This I just learned. They took a tree inventory of the location. Its part of the bid. Seriously. 2403 trees. Not a sample per say. An actual inventory of the trees.

Art is an adventure.

It's all second growth. Or third.. .. 2403 is quite a detailed inventory. I wonder what those last 3 are.

3 years. Work is supposed to shut down October-March each year. I don't know if this would be changed by mild weather. I suppose it's also possible that since the low bid came in under engineer's estimate that the work would also take fewer days than projected.

Not so sure about the under bid taking less time. Just like the Blanca road fix that was under bid and it ran over time wise because the company didn't have the proper equipment to do the task. You see it every year on the WSDOT projects time and cost over run. Where as if you have a well established with a proven track record like Strider then the they have the equipment and man power to do the job.

The didnt just count, they hand numbered every tree. They got a little devilish with a certain number.
