I'm a renter and do the walk from my car to my apartment after 'work, never tools in my car overnight. It's really not a big deal because I plan ahead and don't carry all my tools.
Was wondering if folks have used tent pole bags or if there's a company that makes specialty bags for tools over "48 and have girth for shovels, rakes and or a hoe?
As always thank you for replies!

Hmm, wonder if you could find replacement "stuff sacks" for those EZ Up shelters?
Also, I've heard that this mom & pop company will do custom work. They do some good work on their durable mesh bags. Tuff River Stuff

Sounds like a sea bag might work. Some sea bags have shoulder straps too. You tools will probably still stick out the top...maybe 2 seabags together? I am not sure anything will accomodate a mattock very well unless you can knock the head off each time you move it.

If you are a DIY type, Seattle Fabrics sells all the materials needed to fabricate a bag exactly to you needs. They are open for online ordering.
If you don't have a sewing machine, their dry bag fabrics can be heat bonded. Other fabrics can be bonded using barge cement for the long seams. A sewing awl is useful for attaching carrying straps.

I have a couple “chair” bags. 4+ ft long, 28” in diameter at open end (narrower at bottom). Have a long shoulder strap. These were for carrying chairs to games. A bit scuzzy, free if you want them? Issaquah area. Oh, they’re lime green with Seahawks logo.

Thanks for the good ideas everyone!
Maybe it isn't the bag I should be looking at, maybe tools that get smaller? I have an "rv" rake that collapses and fits into my mountain bike pack that's kinda cool. And used canvas shopping bags as buckets....

I'm looking for more of a bag to protect both my car and the building where I live. I live on the third floor so I'm carrying tools on the elevator and down carpeted halls....
Maybe when it's safe again I go back to WTA and Evergreen work parties to get my fix.

Check out second hand stores for something similar. I picked up one of these with wheels for about $10 at a Goodwill store.
