Compact snow above 4800 feet. Even some fresh snow of recent storms. Got wet from the snow met in the upper trees. Good snow to kick steps up to the false summit. Used microspikes, helmets and ice axe between the false summit and the true summit. The short rock scramble is covered in snow/ice. Good day in the mountains even without the big views from the summit. Lots of cars at the end of the road but most people walk/bike up the Carbon River road.
