Good for you in safely pulling it off!

Dang, your trip account is eerily similar to my first trip on Adams: good weather to start but cramponed up into a lenticular cloud, ski down in full-on conditions, , can't find my stashed gear in the tree groves ( finally found it), etc. Except I had to start down at Morrison Creek even in late June (1984). To this day, continuously skiing from 12,200' to 4700' is my p.r. You will remember your climb for a long time too! I'm not sure when the fire was. I have climbed Adams 8 times since 1984 and the burn is sandwiched in there, I think maybe in the early 2000s. edit: Thanks Michael and Bosterson for the detail..come to think of it when we did a circumnav of Adams about five or six years ago, the forest near Cold Spring camp had been recently crispified.

Nice work! I've only ever done Adams as a day trip in early July. It becomes a slog as you come down below treeline in the afternoon, but the 2000 ft glissade from Piker's down to Lunch Counter is the reason to go. I'll bet it's great to ski the whole way down though, esp now with more snow! Re the forest fire, I believe it was the Cascade Creek fire of 2012 that burned the forest. I did Adams in 2011 and remember the drive being forested, then went back in 2013 and it was crispy and barren.

Go! Take a gun! And a dog! Without a leash! Chop down a tree! Start a fire! Piss wherever you want! Build a cairn! A HUGE ONE! BE A REBEL! YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE! (-bootpathguy)

Appreciate this report as I was thinking of heading up there and had no idea what this year would mean for a trip to Adams. Thanks and well done.

Styling! Envious of that long mellow ski run.
