Yikes! uhoh.gif Another "Don't go here destination!" Although, it could be a real cash cow for parking tickets. doof.gif https://www.facebook.com/smair/videos/10219787886302311/

I remember when this was among the worst of our problems. Those days seem quaint now.

That's a whole lot of privilege right there. shakehead.gif

That video is insane. To bad that can’t just be left as a sacrificial mobbed hike. That many cars could overwhelm a pile of trailheads simultaneously.

https://turns-all-year.com/trip-reports/colchuck It would take every tow truck in the Wenatchee valley all day to tow this many cars. If you drove 3 hours to get there then you might as well roll the dice. Odds are your car won't get towed.
Why is nobody talking about the pack that was found in the river? Seems like something that should be looked into.

When I was a ranger in the Leavenworth district someone found a hand in the river. Just a hand.

I'll be honest. When I see this, my paranoid personality makes me wonder if some trailhead / wilderness vigilante will go up and start slashing tires on all those illegally parked cars. What a cluster f### that would be. Dozens upon dozens of cars with 1 or more punctured tires One of the MANY reasons I stay away from social media destinations

Experience is what'cha get, when you get what'cha don't want

Colchuck Lake is one of the few places on earth where you can simultaneously see a lake and a mountain. Many know this and that is why it is so crowded.

Every location is now a potential "social media" destination. It only takes one person to post an "alluring" picture and like pigs to a trough the hoards blindly follow, with iPhones to guide them and Bluetooth speakers for encouragement.

A couple years ago I forgot to hang my "i'm alive and over 62" tag in my car window at the snow lakes TH. When I arrive back at the car I found a ticket on my window. Cost was $35 for the ticket and a $50 "service fee" to the organization back east where it was mailed. A few rangers could make somebody, somewhere a lot of money (and get the word out) hanging parking tickets on these vehicles.

C'mon, the only two reasons to hike are to see and be seen.

I thought those were the only two reasons to go to Mariners games.
