Source? You said riots but I assume you meant protestors? Perhaps there is more up to date analysis but this article suggests otherwise. https://www.inquirer.com/health/coronavirus/coronavirus-no-spike-cities-despite-protests-big-surge-in-states-that-reopened-20200627.html I agree it would be more productive to invest the effort policing compliance indoors where the risk is greater.

https://patch.com/washington/seattle/coronavirus-cases-rise-king-county-experts-urge-caution "Duchin said no specific venue or risk factor was apparent from contact tracing, including participation in recent demonstrations. Public health workers said less than three dozen people with confirmed illnesses, among roughly 1,000 patients in that span, said they participated in the large gatherings." >"Hi I'm from the government. I understand you have covid. Were you by any chance at one of these peaceful protests where hundreds of stores were burned and looted by armed rioters, dozens of people assault and several shot and killed?" >No way, dood. I must have caught it at Starbucks or something."

I just posted a source that showed increased cases in Seattle. Increasing in Minneapolis: https://www.minnpost.com/health/2020/06/the-daily-coronavirus-update-third-day-of-increased-new-cases-some-cases-tied-to-bar-visits/ "significant increase" in Los Angles: https://abc7.com/coronavirus-in-los-angeles-update-la-county-patient/6104747/ But national news says "nothing to see here" until you go digging for local news stories.

That's what you wrote. What evidence do you have that supports your assertion? Cases are on the rise, yes, but from what I've read it has more to do with other factors.

When asked "Why do you climb"? Simply respond "Why don't you"?

How can you shop at Trader Joe's if your doctor won't let you wear a mask?
Sounds to me like she has good lungs. Breathing problem? I should think that yelling like that would set off a coughing fit. My experience in this would be having had asthma in the past. I suspect she probably parks illegally in handicapped parking spaces and has a "service" duck. Nice try. The Stupid continues.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

You posted a news article saying that there was no spike in areas that had protests. I posted multiple articles proving otherwise. The narrative that there is no spike in the cities with protests is a confirmed lie. The news lied to you. Why then would you believe that the protests had nothing to do with spike even though all the new cases are in the same age group as most of the protestors and common sense says all those people crammed to together will spread the virus? If all those protestors crammed together didn't spread the virus why are we bothering with social distancing and masks?

News story about the importance of wearing a mask inside, yet the news lady in the studio with cameramen, sound people etc not wearing a mask. Also, random arguments in public are now national news. This is the mental state of TV news.

Looks like close to 70 percent mask wearers here at Freddy’s in marysville, so pretty good compliance but definitely not mandatory here.
It's definitely mandatory (you can tell because it's a mandate), just sounds like 30% of shoppers are willing to break the law for no good reason whatever. The deep state doesn't want us to eat spaghetti out of the toilet, they say it's unhealthy. We'll show them!!
Free Will and "Democracy" are still trumping Socialism and Fascism, although just barely. This "Mandate" cannot and will not be enforced, I was in an O'Reilly auto parts store that had a sign stating "masks required to shop at our store" and yet the person in front of me in line was not wearing a mask....no problem, he was served, as it should be.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

The article and the studies it linked to were trying to shed light on why we are not seeing the sharp, sustained spikes that were expected. Why would researchers be trying to explain something that didn't happen if it did? Yes, cases are on the rise, but your hypothesis and proof strike me as convincing as a 3rd grade homework assignment.

I guess it depends where you get your news. My morning reading states that the spikes are happening in states that reopened too soon, or were never really closed. Examples are areas where beaches were crowded and where folks ignored spacing and where bars were opened up and suggested rules ignored. For example Oregon's spike stemmed from fishing processing and a church in the NE part of the state that ignored precautions. Okanogan County's biggest outbreak was from a Mother's Day gathering. Not the protest that had quite a few participants. I've not read where the protests caused a spike. Instead I read that projected increases did not happen and wearing masks and being outdoors were reasons given. I do not have a TV to watch. When I did, I found myself turning off the news as it had too many ads and was dumbed down too much. I do subscribe to the Spokesman Review and read some freebies in addition to that.

From NPR's web site. Note that Idaho has the largest increase, but that doesn't mean they have a lot of cases. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/03/16/816707182/map-tracking-the-spread-of-the-coronavirus-in-the-u-s

There is a small % of our fellow citizens who feel that wearing a mask in public violates their rights. When did it happen that we all became so focused on our rights and not our obligations to our fellow man? If wearing a mask in public would prevent the spread of the virus and prevent more infections and deaths isn't it worth the inconvenience? If wearing a mask helps our country and economy get back to normal faster, then isn't it our patriotic duty to do so?

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost
