Nice day to do some rc 'wheeling up at the pass and beyond.

Was reflecting on hobbies that have little if any impact and others that have both environmental, visual and audible impacts on animals as well as people.

Not my mess but it is my responsibility to do the right thing...

Bean Peak in the Teanaway.  Highly recommend.  Trail follows a creek through a beautiful open forest to a really nice meadow with a rocky headwall.  The trail goes up to the ridge where that was shot, and disappears.  Fun little scramble to the peak.  Few other peaks nearby too.

Looks like you had a fun day too!  Where are you looking down on the lake from?  (And thanks for taking in the trash!   curse.gif )

Turned away from 3 trailheads off i90 due to crowded conditions, I was turning back west home. But then I thought - why not dumpster dive?

So, as luck would have it, there was a single spot open (and another taken by a group having a tailgate bbq  curse.gif ) in the Little Si lot, as I passed a dozen or so people hiking out back to North Bend.

After I left the main little si trail, I saw a group of 4 people with dogs once, then passed them and didn't see them again. The ledges were nice to nap on, and despite the overflowing lots not a single soul disturbed my slumber.

We hiked the East Bank trail to the south end of Ross Lake today.  Perfect weather for a hike with a 6 year old, and was super impressed with the use of masks and social distancing by all users of the trail.  Enjoyable day.  Looking forward to an attempt on Clark and Luahna next weekend.

I'm visiting the 'rents in White Salmon.  I think it was Wednesday did a mellow hike with my mom.  Somehow I'd never hiked along the Salmon River that drains some of the south side of Mt. Hood.  Did about 2 miles out and then turned around.  Trail stays near the river the whole time, which is quite scenic.  Some big cedars, various flowers blooming.  Overcast day but it didn't rain, we had a really nice time.

Today I headed up on the north side of Hood.  TH just beyond Laurance Lake, up to Elk Cove.  Went a tad bit clockwise on the Timberline Trail to the next good view.  Good vantages of Hood off and on along my entry trail.  I'm going to get the honor of taking my oldest nephew on his first backpacking trip in a few weeks and I thought this would work good.  My scouting trip was a success and confirmed this should be a nice destination.
