I’m pretty new to fishing alpine lakes but want some variety when floating (i can imagine the learning curve using a fly set up in my pack raft to be a process...) so any recommendations for an ultralight spinning reel that works best in those situations?
I know casting distance may be a struggle but just want some options and any pointers and tips are greatly appreciated.
A classic Mitchell 300 was the first open faced reel I ever fished with back in the 60s or 70s. They weren't skirted like modern spinning reels and lighter, smaller reels started to be produced. The Mitchell 300 in the link above is designed for 12-lb test line and weighs 9.9 oz. The Mitchell 310 is their ultralight 500 size reel. It weighs 6.8 oz.
