I have finally finished wearing my old hiking boots. They were purchased from REI in August, 2010 and worn several miles before getting re-soled at Dave's in Fremont. I now have a new pair (same model) that I had purchased as a back up in 2014 and had never worn. This past Thursday I let go of the old and put on the new ones. I wore them on the Taylor River trail to Snoqualmie Lake. I really appreciated having the original sole again. Performed really well on those many, many creek crossings.
Would a thrift store be interested in them or should I just toss them in the garbage? They still may have a few miles on them for someone. I have the original unused liners since I wore my own orthotic liners. Here's the REI page showing the specs. This is now an obsolete model. They are a size 12. ~z
eBay? I sold a modified Golite pack that I assumed would just go to a thrift store but someone bought it for 35 bucks.
I had to laugh at Waterman's response. I saw hens and chicks in hiking boots at the Stampede Pass weather station way back when water was available to PCT hikers up there. The hikers miss you Jacque! Ah the memories!
