What's the deal with these shortages these days? Mountain House is in high demand. Must be. Look I went to various stores today no Mountain House!! I NEED these!! Tuesday lastest!!! Now I'm havin' to look at 'em on Amazon. Bezos 'pparantly still carries em. Seein' all these extremely rare flavors!! Italian style steak? Dumplings?? Creamy Mac! Fusilla pasta!! WITH steak. All for higher prices with very few in stock!! So they're carryin' these high end deals but somehow ya got your various regular ol' run o' the mill type flavors - spaghetti/strog'noff/whatnot currently out of stock!!! What's the deal!!?

FWIW: The Redmond CostCo has had Mountain House packs the last several times I've shopped.

The banana display was bare this morning at the Walmarche. I had to buy.....organic nanners instead of the dangerous kind. The humanity!

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Reminds me of a joke: Four guys are standing on a street corner in Tel Aviv: an American, a Russian, a Chinese, and an Israeli... A news reporter comes up to the group and says to them: "Excuse me...What's your opinion on the meat shortage?" The American says: What's a shortage? The Russian says: What's meat? The Chinese man says: What's an opinion? The Israeli says: What's "Excuse me"?...

Northgate Big 5 had a few varieties still on the shelf yesterday. I grabbed a few.

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

The only thing left at the Monroe Big Five today was the famous Mountain House Chili Mac (which I don’t eat!) and one freeze dried Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich, which I do eat! biggrin.gif

Haven't been in for a while, but during the March/April shut down, when other places had none, North 40 outfitters had freeze dried food in the store. I do not know where the nearest store to you would be. For a couple thousand bucks, they have freeze drying equipment on sale.

Demand has been so high that Mountain House has added a page to their website listing just the in stock items. https://www.mountainhouse.com/m/category/what-is-currently-available.html

We recently bought a big variety pack at Costco. My wife wasn't even particularly looking for it. Are other brands equally hard to get? Backpacker's Pantry has a shorter shelf life since they put packets of fresh(er) stuff in their food. So maybe it's less in demand with the "end of days" crowd?

Probably head back to Wa soon, so I had better stock up on TP before I leave Idaho.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

I don't think TP is a big issue anymore.

Lynnwood REI was extremely picked over when I was there last week. Only a few packages of anything in the freeze dried food department. I don't think there were any Mountain House dinners. A few options of Backpackers Pantry and Alpine Aire. Maybe a couple breakfast or desert items.
