A small labradoodle (20#) named Penny was lost Friday 7/31/2020 1630 at lake Ann in the Mt Baker Wilderness.
She was last seen at the campsite near the lake outlet and is suspected of going into the cliff bands below the camps.
She was last heard barking Saturday 8/1/2020 at approximately 1200 in the same area.
Searchers have come up empty handed as of Sunday 8/2/2020 1830.
We are asking only that folks share this message with anyone planning on being in the Lake Ann area or in the Baker lake area toward Swift Creek.
I’ll post a photo as soon as I have one from the owner.
Thank you,

Hope she is found. 2 nights ago I had a young guy show up at my place seeking a phone because his 11 year old dog ran off into the woods while they were car camping near Bear-Pinnacle lake. They searched for 3 hours before he decided to try to round up some help. He notified several friends and relatives who headed out to search, but there was only about an hour of day lite remaining. A couple hours later he and his family stopped back by and they had found her while he was at my place. His dog was a trained service dog and had never ran off before. Things are way different out in the wilderness, not really safe to let your dog off leash, no matter how well behaved or mature they might be.

Posting for a friend.
I’m sure the lesson of leashing is pretty apparent to them at the moment.
Thanks for your input.

Not pointed at anyone specifically, just sharing an experience and I guess a reminder to all to always be more vigilant with their pets out in the woods.
But what do I know, I have cats.

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey

Wow!!! That is such great news. I bet the owner will feel eternal gratitude to the universe for the rest of her life.
