Pixel 3 is waterproof, has an excellent screen, and supports wireless charging
Wireless charging is a very good feature to have especially if you want to get several years out of a phone.

Bumping this old thread as the Pixel 3 is on clearance new for less than $150. Not to worry about the pink shade, just slap a thin black case on it. Personally love my Pixel 3. It still performs like a champ and takes great photos going on 3 years. For the money I don't think you can find a smart phone with a better camera, not to mention free google photos storage for life for all uploads prior to 1/31/2022. Tempted to pick one up for my mother in law at this price. Here's a picture I took of her with my Pixel 3 a few years ago demonstrating picture quality in dim light, although it takes fabulous point and shoot hiking pics as well...

Here is a ranking of phone cameras only by image quality. https://www.dxomark.com/rankings/#smartphones-mobile Many of the newer multi-lens camera phones contain complex image processing to blend images captured at different focal lengths into a single image with better overall sharpness.

Unlocked so should work with any carrier with the appropriate plan and sim card. This is what "Verizon variant" means. Even so, I would be careful buying a phone that will stop receiving software updates this October.

Yeah, it's unlocked so will work with any carrier. There were only 2 versions. Verizon and Google. The only major difference is the Google version allows for eSIM if you use Google's Fi service. Also, despite the bootloader lock disclaimer, prior purchasers of the Verizon version reported the bootloader to be fully unlockable so you can theoretically install any custom ROM if you're worried about software updates. For $130 I wouldn't worry too much about it. You get an excellent phone, excellent screen, excellent camera, wireless charging, NFC, etc. Most budget phones can't touch any of these features for the price. Moot point as it sold out quick.

I have a Google Pixel 4A 5g and it takes great photos. Th battery last a long time. It also has a night photo option and astrophotography when using a tripod at night.
